TRESemme Keratin Smooth Shampoo & Conditioner

Tresemme

Thank you Influenster for sending me TRESemme Keratin Smooth Shampoo & Conditioner complimentary to try.

I was excited to try this set as my hair can be pretty frizzy since I don’t use a blow dryer often.  It’s not good to use a lot of heat on your hair so I usually let it dry naturally.  This set has 5 benefits: Anti-Frizz, Perfectly Detangles, Silky Shine, Soft Feel & Tames Fly-Aways.

When I received my box I was floored that I got liter bottles , I was expecting travel size so this was a nice surprise.

This set has a nice smell to it, not over powering or too floral.  I have allergies so some scents really bother them.  I did notice the next day my hair was really oily and I don’t have that issue with my normal shampoo and conditioner.

Let’s go over the 5 benefits it has:

Anit Frizz- It does work for anti-frizz, I noticed just after a few washes that my hair was less frizzy.

Perfectly Detangles -I would say detangle wise it’s the same as most shampoos, I didn’t really see a difference.

Silky Shine -My hair also had a nice shine to it and felt silky but only for one day then it went greasy.

Soft Feel – My hair was nice and soft for the first day and then went greasy.

Tames Fly-Aways – Since I mostly let my hair naturally dry I could tell it tamed my fly aways.

Tresemme me

Overall: It is a nice product but for me I feel my normal professional shampoo & conditioner is better.  I don’t wash my hair every day, as it is best to let the natural oils come out and washing every day can dry your hair out.

I won’t be purchasing TRESemme for one big reason; they are NOT cruelty free.  They do claim so on their site but if you follow the link to Unilever you find this statement:   “Occasionally, when there are no suitable non-animal approaches available, some of the ingredients we use have to be tested; and some governments test our products on animals as part of their regulatory requirements. We are actively working with these governments, other scientists and NGOs, to put in place alternative methods.”

I also wont be buying this due to the fact after one day my hair is really greasy and I don’t want to over wash my hair.  Please note I use less of the TRESemme products than I do of my normal shampoo and conditioner.  Also I only normally use Salon brand products like Big Sexy (which is what I have been using before I got these bottles).

  • Since Sephora quit carrying the polish I’m not sure where to get the polishes from.

Image result for ofra banana highlighting powder

The Last product I received was OFRA Cosmetic Labratories Banana Highlighting Powder – I haven’t used this yet as I am a bit intimidated with highlighter but it is on my list to try 🙂

Overall:  So this bag was actually awesome! I did gift the bag to some one since I have so many I thought she would really love the bag 😀

For $10 a month is a really good subscription and now you can customize the bags a little bit.  As I always say giving honest reviews made my bags better and I reviewed every bag ie if I didn’t use a product I honestly told them that.

Ipsy ~ Reviewing products I haven’t used in past blogs.

Image result for ipsy logo

So I thought I would go back a review products that I had not used in past blog post.

First up is BioRepublic SkinCare Sheet Mask Trio in  Aloe Rescue Revitalizing Fiber Mask, Cucumber Breeze Soothing Fiber Mask, and Green Tea Detox Purifying Fiber Mask.

These are really nice masks. I like that I can put them on and then they come off nicely. They left my skin nice and soft too.

*From the June 2015 Glam Bag

Next we have Albertini Divine Skin Hydrator.

This is a nice light hydrator but I would definitely say I like it better when I use it in the shower vs after.

Can be found at Albertini International. Retails for $13.95

*From the August 2015 Glam Bag

Next up is Skone Cosmetics Pretty Eyes eyeliner. This is a nice eyeliner goes on smoothly and wear time is great.

Can be found at Skone Cosmetics. Retails for $12.

*From October 2015 Glam Bag

Next up is  LeeAnni Eco Go Away Gloomy Day Serum.

So I used this product and I didn’t really see a difference in my skin. The only thing I noticed that around my nose was a bit dry.

Can be found at LeeAnni Eco. Retails for $29.98

Next up is Crown Brush Oval Concealer Brush (C224) .  I hadn’t really used this brush until my best friend came over and showed me how to really use make up :D. I am now an avid user of this brush. I love how soft it is but yet it is stiff enough to apply my concealer.

Can be found at Crown Brush. Retails for $4.47

*From the December 2015 Glam Bag

Next up is Mr. Balm Cosmetics Mr Write (Now) Jack B. Bronze. This is a really nice eyeliner, great application and coverage.  I really like using it on my top eye lid for a pop of shine.

Can be found at theBalm. Retails for $17.

*From the January 2016 Glam Bag

Next up is Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Oil. Ok no one freak out but this went into the trash. I didn’t want to put oil on my face. I have combination to oil skin and putting oil on it just seemed really dumb.  So unfortunately I don’t have a review for this product.

I do love Smashbox and loved the other primer I got in another Glam Bag though.

*From the February 2016 Glam Bag

Next up is Make Up For Ever Excessive Lash. This is a nice mascara but its not one of my top favorites.

Can be found at Sephora. Retails for $25

*From the July 2016 Glam Bag

Image result for NYX Cosmetics Butter Lip Balm red velvet

Next up is NYX Cosmetics Butter Lip Balm in Red Velvet. Goes on nice and wear time is great. Since its tinted its a nice touch if you want a simple lip or just a little something with no other make up.

Can be found at Ulta for $3.99

*From the December 2014 Glam Bag

Next up we have InCoco Nail Polish Appliques. I turned in points for these as I was intrigued since they are made out of nail polish and are not stickers. These are 100% better than Jamberry! Easy to apply and easy to remove.

You can now find them at Target for $6.99 or you can go to INCOCO.

Ive added the mani that I used them in 😀

October 2016 Ipsy Glam Bag -Black Magic

october-16-ipsy-bag

This months bag was definitely cute! I love how its Halloween themed and that they worked with an artist to design the bag 😀

The first product I received was Ciate London Fierce Flicks Eyeliner – I haven’t opened this one yet as I am horrible at liquid eyeliner so I have one from a previous month that I am using to practice with.

The second product I received was  theBalm Cosmetics Hot Mama Blush – Well I don’t use blush since I have natural rosy cheeks so this will be going in the swap box.

The third product I received was Kokie Cosmetics Kokie Nail Polish in Heavenly – I haven’t used this yet but its in line to be used soon.

  • You can purchase at Bed Bath & Beyond, Harmon, Christmas Tree Shops, Harmon Face Values or Kokie Cosmetics. It retails for $6 (on their site).

The fourth product I received was tre’StiQue Matte Lip Crayon Belize Bordeaux – I have worn this a couple of times and it’s a nice smooth application. Wear time is like normal lip products.

The last product I received was pur~lisse Daily Lip Nourisher with Mango and Shea Butters – This is a really nice lip balm. I like to use it before bed so it moisturizers over night.

  • You can purchase at Purlisse. Retails for $16

*Pictures are from Ipsy

Overall: Minus the blush I would say this bag was great. Hopefully soon I can opt out of blush as a product to receive.

September 2016 Ipsy Glam Bag – Glamazon

september-2016-ipsy-glam-bag

This month bag is a miss for me. The “girls” spell out Ipsy but it’s not my style, though it is cute.

The first product I received was IT Cosmetics Superhero Mascara in Super Black – I haven’t opened this yet since I am still using my tarte mascara from last month.

  • IT Cosmetics can be found in lots of beauty stores, QVC and at IT Cosmetics. It retails for $24

The second product I received was  Crown Brush Ombre Angle Brush – LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this brush! I use it with my 3 tone bronzer and it so soft.

  • I’m not sure if this brand is carried in stores so you can purchase straight from them at Crown Brush. It retails for $7.99.

The third product I received was NUXE Moisturizing Mask Creme Fraiche de Beaute – I haven’t tried this yet since I am trying to finish up my tub of Body Shop face mask before it goes bad.

  • You can purchase at NUXE Paris. It retails for $25

The fourth product was BeFine Food Skin Care Exfoliating Cleanser – This was really nice cleanser and smelled good. I really liked that it exfoliated while it cleaned.

The last product I received was  Trust Fund Beauty Nail Polish in Champagne Socialite – I have used TFB polish before and they are nice but a bit pricey.

* Please note the 2 products on the left of the picture I turned points in for 😀

Overall:  Another good month even though the bag isn’t my style I would still say this bag was a win

August 2016 Ipsy Glam Bag – Sugar Highness

august-2016-ipsy-glam-bag

This month there were two different bag designs. I got the purple haired lady but there was also a green haired version.

The first product I received was Formula X Nail Polish in Dollface- I have used Formula X in the past and its a nice main stream brand. I’m not a pink polish fan so I gave this one to my niece.

  • Formula X can be found at Sephora and retails for $10.50 per bottle.

The second product I received was Beaute Basics 3 Tone Bronzer – LOVE this product! I use it for blush and it goes on smoothly and is a perfect shade for me.

  • I’m not sure if this brand is sold in stores but here is their site Beaute Basics . It appears to retail for $3.99 minimum $5                                                order required.

The third product I received was tarte cosmetics tarteist lash paint mascara –  LOVE this mascara and definitely am buying one full size.

  • You can get tarte at Ulta, Sephora and tarte cosmetics. It retails for $23.

The fourth product I received was Beau Gachis Paris Pro Series Applicator Sponge – I haven’t used this yet as I am still learning how to blend and highlight.

  • You can get a blender at most make up stores but this one can be found on their site Beau Gachis. It retails for $28.

The last product I got was Olive Natural Beauty Anti-Aging Facial Moisturizer – A little of this goes a long way! Its light weight and moisturizing but I would not recommend it for anyone with oily skin.

*Photos of products are from Ipsy

Overall:  This bag was definitely  a good bag for me this month. All the products are all products I will use.  If you are having issues with getting products you don’t like do honest reviews and retake the quiz.

Sephora The System XCEL Customizable Gel-Like Nail Polish Set

formula-x-influenster-kit

I received the Formula X The System XCEL™ -Customizable Gel-Like Nail Polish Set from Influenster to review.  I’ll break down each product for you and my opinion on each one in my review.

delete-all-bottle

Delete All5 Finger Nail Polish Remover : described as an intensive nail polish remover in a pre-soaked five-finger sponge to dissolve all types of polish.

It retails for $15.00 and is cruelty free.

inside-of-delete-all

It features five-finger pockets that are perfectly cut into a soft, saturated sponge. Just dip, soak, and you’re done. Featuring the powerful formula of the original 5-Finger Nail Polish Remover, it now has a reinforced sponge with tightly interwoven, micro-mini pores for extra durability. Its one-step, spill-proof process makes removing your mani even easier.

The finger holes are a little small for a couple of my fingers but it did remove my polish nicely and didn’t dry out my cuticles. As for being spill proof I’m not 100% positive that if it was knocked over it wouldn’t spill out. For $15.00 I’ll stick with my regular nail remover pod.

cleanse-bottle

Step One is CLEANSE XCEL – Nail Cleanser A gentle nail cleanser—Formula X’s essential salon secret—now with a redesigned brush for faster application and a new and improved flash-dry formula. Retails for $10.50 individually.

cleanse

It dried really quick and seemed to clean off any residue left from me washing my hands after removing my polish.

prime-bottle

Step Two is PRIME XCEL – Nail Base Coat An ultra-sticky base coat to prime nails for long-lasting polish application while protecting them from staining (please note any staining you see in this post is from wearing teal polish multiple times this month. I need to do a whitening treatment). Retails for $10.50 individually.

prime

This dries a bit tacky and takes longer than my usually base coat to dry. Overall it is a nice base coat and does add a bit of strength to my nails.

tgif-bottle

Step Three is Color 😀 : The color I received was TGIF described as summer ready coral pink. Retails for $10.50 individually.

tgif-swatch

It’s a bit thick and can be a pain to work with. Though its a nice creme polish and the color with out top coat is vibrant.

shine-bottle

Step Four is SHINE XCEL Top Coat with ultra-glossy, fast-drying, fortified with acrylic to seal in nail color with gel-like protection. I have only seen this in the kit but they do sale other Formula X top coats individually.

tgif-mani

This is 2 coats with the Forumula X Shine XCEL top coat (I think the top coat dulls the polish quite a bit). I stamped with Moyra Plate 03 sing Sinful Colors Casablanca.

This did hold up really well with my job. I only had minor wear and that was due to the dremmel I use for nail grinding.  I do have to say it was thick and I had tons of bubbles the first use.  I have tried the system with other polishes and it works great with them too.

Overall:  If you are wanting a gel mani with out the light I think this would be the way to go. This was a really nice system and does make the mani gel like.

Price: $32.00 this does not include the Delete All

Grace-full Nail Polish ~May 2016 HHC

Eternal Sunset bottle

Grace-full Nail Polish was featured again in May 2016 for the Hella Holo Custom Group.  She made 3 lovely polishes but I was only able to snag this one.

Eternal Sunset

Eternal Sunset is a purple jelly with multichrome flakies in copper, gold and fuchsia and pops of holo micro glitter in bright pink and copper. I’m still getting use to jelly polishes so it was a little tricky to work with but nothing to hard to work with.  This is 2 coats with top coat.

Eternal Sunset Mani

This is 2 coats stamped with EDK Bruce using Major Dijit plate 09.

Price: This polish is no longer available unless you are a member of HHC and can find someone reselling it.

Where to buy: This polish can only be bought by HHC members if you find someone selling but check out Grace-Full  and grab some of her polishes.  Grace-Full Nail Polish

Overall: I’m still new to jelly polishes but I really love this one. The color is gorgeous and when the sun hits it you can see all of the different flakies in it.  I am excited to use this in a fall themed mani 😀
